Carnival Cruise Ship New OrleansCarnival Triumph Sailing Towards New Orleans
There are parts of Louisiana that have recently been impacted by severe weather and flooding. Today Carnival Cruise Line announced a plan to donate $125,000 to various organizations in order to help aid their efforts to support those affected by the recent flooding.Furthermore, Carnival Corporation is matching this amount by donating $125,000. Combined a total of $250,000 will be donated by Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Corporation. Carnival Corporation is the parent company of Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival's press release notes that these contribution's will be made via the Carnival Foundation. Some of the recipients Carnival named in its press release are the American Red Cross, Louisiana Association of United Ways, and Save the Children.
Besides Carnival Cruise Line's and Carnival Corporation's donations, cruisers from New Orleans will also have an opportunity to donate. Carnival's press release says cruisers will have a chance to donate during cruise check-in.
Carnival currently has two ships sailing from New Orleans, the Carnival Triumph and Carnival Dream. The Carnival Triumph primarily sails 4 & 5 night cruises from New Orleans and the Carnival Dream sails 7 night cruises from New Orleans.

Royal Caribbean Extends Vision of the Seas From Galveston Deployment

8/14/2016

Royal CaribbeanRoyal Caribbean Ship Docked In Ketchikan, Alaska
Royal Caribbean has added more Vision of the Seas cruises from Galveston, Texas. A few months ago, Royal Caribbean's booking engine showed the Vision of the Seas sailing 4 & 5 night cruises from Galveston in November & December 2017. However, the Vision of the Seas has 4 & 5 night cruises sailing from Galveston for January through April 2018. Overall, it now appears the Vision of the Seas will be sailing from Galveston from November 2018 through April 2018 at a minimum. No information for beyond April 2018 is available at this time. These sailings are in addition to the Liberty of the Seas' 7 night cruises from Galveston.
Based on Royal Caribbean's booking engine the Vision of the Seas' cruise departures for January through April 2018 will be an alternating pattern of 4 & 5 night cruises. The ship's 4 night cruise voyages will depart Galveston and sail to Cozumel, Mexico. The 5 night cruises will alternate between Cozumel & Costa Maya Or Cozumel & Progreso. EDIT (9/8/2016):  I previously wrote there was 1 five night cruise departing January 3, 2018 that sailed to only Cozumel. I was incorrect. This cruise sails to both Cozumel and Progreso, according to Royal Caribbean's website. Thank you to the anonymous website visitor that wrote to me to let me know of this incorrect statement.

Below is a list of the departures listed for 2018, (as of 8/14/16 and subject to change at any time for any reason). I put them in a table format for ease of viewing. This list is in addition to the ship's already announced 2017 departures.
