This is a guide that should help give you suggestions on how and what to pack for a cruise with warm temperatures. If you are cruising to Alaska or a place with cold temperatures this guide is not for you. Most cruises during the summer are in warm temperatures and will require you to dress accordingly, if you wish to stay cool.
I. The Basics
Everybody's packing lists should include some basic items regardless of their cruise destination. Make sure you pack your basic clothing, toiletries, travel documentation, identification cards, and money for payments. If you require bringing any medical supplies onboard you will need to make sure you pack those items too.
II. T-Shirts and Shorts
More than likely you will be uncomfortable if you only pack long sleeved shirts and jeans. Most people, on the Caribbean cruises I have been on, will wear t-shirts and shorts during the day onboard the ship. However, you may want to consider bringing formal clothes for formal night. There are some people who also pack some clothing that is long sleeved or jeans because the insides of the ship may get cold with the a/c running. Pack according to your wishes, but keep this advice in mind.
III. Sunscreen & Sunglasses
If you plan on being outside you should consider bringing sunscreen that will work on you. There are a variety of different sunscreens that offer different levels of u/v protection. Make sure you purchase one that will protect you. You should also consider purchasing sunglasses. If you wear glasses regularly you might want to consider seeing your eye doctor to determine if prescription sunglasses would be good for you to have in addition to your regular glasses.
IV. Swimwear
In the summertime many people use pools and waterslides. If you plan on using pools or the waterslides you need to make sure you pack your swimwear. Make sure your swimwear is not too loose and is not in danger of falling off your body. I am not going to suggest any specific types of swimwear because this topic is too debated on cruise message boards.
There may be some things that I left off this blog post, but this is a starting point that is meant to help you start packing. For more cruise packing tips please Click Here.
