Galveston Cruising: Which Cruise Terminal Will My Ship Dock At?

3/29/2019

Galveston Cruise TerminalGalveston
The Port of Galveston currently has two cruise terminals that are sometimes both used on the same days. A common question related to Galveston cruises I have had is regarding which cruise terminal ships usually dock at. Although the cruise terminal assignment can change or vary, this post is intended to be a general guide about which cruise terminal each ship typically or is expected to dock at.

Quick Overview Of Galveston's Cruise Terminals:
Galveston's two cruise terminals are located by each other. The entrance to both cruise terminals at the same place and signage directs shuttles and passenger drop-offs to the correct location. Cruise Terminal #1 is home to most of Carnival Cruise Line's departures from Galveston. However, on days that Carnival has two ships in Galveston at the same time Carnival will use Cruise Terminal #2. Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line always use Cruise Terminal #2. There may be exceptions to these general rules, but this is the typical pattern.

Cruise Ship
Typical Terminal Assignment
Carnival Vista
Saturday Departures - Cruise Terminal #1
Carnival Breeze
Thursday Departures - Cruise Terminal #1
Monday Departures - Cruise Terminal #1
Saturday Departures - Cruise Terminal #2
Note:  The Carnival Breeze will take over the Carnival Dream's 4 & 5 night cruise itineraries starting in May 2021.
Carnival Dream
Saturday Departures - Cruise Terminal #2 (Carnival Vista usually gets cruise terminal #1 on Saturdays in Galveston)
Sunday Departures - Cruise Terminal #1
Allure of the Seas
(starting November 2022)
Due to the Allure of the Seas' size, once the ship starts sailing from Galveston in November 2022 the ship will likely only be able to use Cruise Terminal #3. This cruise terminal's construction is scheduled to begin in April 2021 and last until 2022.
Sunday Departures - Cruise Terminal #3

Liberty of the Seas
Sunday Departures -  Cruise Terminal #2

Adventure of the Seas

Explorer of the Seas

Monday Departures -  Cruise Terminal #2
Wednesday Departures - Cruise Terminal #2
Friday Departures - Cruise Terminal #2
Note: The Adventure of the Seas will be replaced by the Explorer of the Seas for mid-2021. The Adventure of the Seas is scheduled to return to Galveston in November 2021.
Disney Wonder
Most Departures - Cruise Terminal #2
