Carnival Jubilee Docking In Galveston

        The Carnival Jubilee arrived this morning in Galveston Texas for the very first time. To celebrate the Carnival Jubilee's inaugural arrival in Galveston the Port of Galveston hosted a welcome event on Pier 21 where people could gather to watch the ship's morning arrival.  
               Carnival Jubilee first arrived in Galveston on 12/20/2023, but the inaugural cruise from Galveston is not scheduled until 12/23/2023. Galveston's Cruise Terminal 25 has been renovated in preparation of the Carnival Jubilee's guests. This post will share pictures of the Carnival Jubilee arriving in Galveston and docking for the very first time!

The Carnival Jubilee was welcomed to Galveston with a water cannon from a tugboat. Before the ship could dock, the Carnival Jubilee turned around. The turn-around happened in the harbor area close to the Marina Bar & Grill and Cruise Terminal 10.

After the Carnival Jubilee turned around the ship sailed backwards into Galveston. The Port of Galveston's Police Boat and the Pilot Boat were both present for the Carnival Jubilee's arrival.

Once the Carnival Jubilee got closer to Pier 21, I was able to zoom in to see various parts of the ship. I was able to get a good look at the Bolt Roller Coaster located on the Carnival Jubilee's upper decks.

Since the starboard side of the ship faced us, I was able to get a good look at the Carnival Jubilee's windows that are part of Grand Central. On Carnival Jubilee, Grand Central is the ship's atrium that spans three decks. The atrium lobby has a giant stage that has floor to ceiling windows behind LED screens. The LED screens can move around and during many of the day-time events Carnival can have the screens moved so guests can enjoy ocean views. At night, Grand Central is used for a variety of different shows.

Once the Carnival Jubilee was nearly docked I walked towards Cruise Terminal 25 and got some pictures of the ship at the cruise terminal.

Construction work was still taking place at the cruise terminal. It looked like some of the work still going on included replacing the cruise terminal's roof.
