Each guest participating the silent disco will wear a pair of headphones that can individually select music. The music choices available for selection could vary from decades music (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's hip-hop, bass, rap, heavy metal, country & western, punk, rock, and more. Exact music choices may vary. Only the guest with the headphone can hear the music selected through the headphones instead of a typical disco where the same music is played for all guests. The silent disco concept usually occurs once or twice in a cruise and may take place in the ship's nightclub or on the Lido Deck (varies by ship).

This will depend on the time the event is held, where the event is held, and what restrictions the onboard entertainment team may place on the event. Carnival's nightclub usually has a 21+ age after a certain time so if the silent disco is happening during the nightclub's normal hours I would expect there to be an age restriction. Carnival is usually good about publishing information on age restrictions in the Carnival Hub App or Fun-Times Activity Newsletter so you should check there to see if the silent disco on your ship has any age restrictions.

Will more Carnival ships be getting silent discos anytime soon?
The Carnival Spirit is the only ship I am aware of at this time that is expected to get a silent disco in the coming weeks/months. Carnival does not have an implementation plan or schedule available for when ships will get silent discos.
