Carnival Cruise Line is implementing debarkation process changes that will include use of the Carnival Hub App.
Guests that choose to put their luggage outside their stateroom for luggage delivery service will now be asked to use the Carnival Hub App to choose a debarkation time and indicate how many bags are being put outside their stateroom. This will replace guests having to pick up zone tags for their luggage as Carnival will deliver zone tags to the staterooms based on what was selected via the Carnival Hub App.
For guests who do self-assist debarkation there are no changes to the debarkation process. Guests who do self-assist and take all luggage off themselves do not have to do anything on the Carnival Hub App. Instead these guests will follow the instructions given during the debarkation presentation or on the letter delivered via the stateroom mailbox.
Guests that are Diamond, Platinum, Faster to the Fun, or Suite guests will not see any changes either. It is expected these guests will still receive the special tags in their stateroom.
What ships is Carnival's Digital Debark on?
UPDATE: As of 12/13/2023, according to John Heald, Digital Debark is on Carnival Elation, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Dream, and Mardi Gras. Starting 12/18/2023 Digital Debark is being expanded to Carnival Breeze, on 12/30/2023 to the Carnival Panorama, and Carnival is trying to start the Carnival Jubilee's 12/23/2023 inaugural cruise with digital debark.
What if guests do not have a smartphone or do not want to use the Carnival Hub App?
Carnival will still have tags available onboard for pick-up for guests who need them, but do not want to participate in Digital Debark on the Carnival Hub App. On the ships with Digital Debark for guests who are going to leave luggage outside their door, at this time use of the Carnival Hub App is not mandatory.
If my ship is participating in Digital Debark and I have questions once onboard who should I ask?
The debarkation presentation that occurs on the last full day of the cruise is one place you can get information onboard about the debarkation process. Carnival should deliver a piece of paper with debarkation information sometime on the last full day's morning.
