Carnival Cruise Line's Main Dining Room dinner experience is a highlight for many guests while onboard a cruise. Most items served in the Main Dining Room are complimentary and you can generally have multiple appetizers or desserts if you would like. After two entrees Carnival will charge you $5 per additional entrees (this is based on per person). Any items that are an additional charge will have a price or $ sign on the menu and the charge will be made to your Sail & Sign card onboard spending account. 
             Prior to cruising I enjoy researching Carnival's dining menus and looking at others' food pictures. This post will share 5 night cruise menus from my Carnival Breeze 5 night cruise that took place in May 2023. I have also included food pictures of the dish from my recent Carnival Breeze cruises. 

General Reminder Regarding Menus: Please note, menus are subject to change at any time as supplies and staffing can dictate which menu items are able to served. Additionally, please note that the exact presentation & ingredients that come with a certain dish are subject to change. If you have allergies or cannot eat a certain ingredient please consult with Carnival to determine if a dish is suitable for your consumption (it's always better to be safe than sorry so please be careful to avoid a serious allergic reaction or other issue). ​

        The Carnival Pride finished drydock and has now started the 2023 Europe cruise season. The first sailing on the Carnival Pride after dry-dock began on May 28, 2023 and had special guests visit the ship before it set sail which included Christine Duffy, Carnival Cruise Line's President, and Emeril Lagasse, Carnival's Chief Culinary Officer.

Carnival Pride's 2023 Drydock
              The 2023 drydock on the Carnival Pride included several modifications and enhancements onboard. The following items were completed during this drydock:
1. New Carnival Livery - this is the red, white, & blue hull paint livery
2. upgrades to enhance accessibility for guests with disabilities (Carnival's press release did not give specifics). 
3. Heroes Tribute Bar replaced the SkyBox Sports Bar
4. New staterooms and a dedicated space for the Chef's Table replaced the Deck 1 nightclub level
5. Renovation to the casino to expand the space & removal of the casino bar 
6. SPA Carnival was rebranded as the Cloud 9 SPA
7. The steakhouse onboard was rebranded to the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse 
8. The Carnival Adventures shop replaced the card room onboard
9. A Dreams Studio was added on Deck 2 
10. General cosmetic enhancements & maintenance were performed onboard the ship

Carnival Pride 2023 Europe Season
                 The Carnival Pride's 2023 Europe Season runs now through October 28, 2023. At the conclusion of the Europe season the ship will sail a 15 night transatlantic cruise back to Tampa, Florida.

The Carnival Pride is a Spirit Class ship and entered service in 2002.

       Cruisers sailing from the Port of Galveston are now able to be picked up or dropped off using an Uber ride share. The Galveston Wharves and Uber recently signed an agreement earlier in May 2023 that will allow Uber uses to be dropped off & picked up at all three cruise terminals. 
       According to the Port of Galveston's press release, cruisers that are going to be using Uber should look for signage that points to the dedicated drop-off and pick-up areas. 

Which cruise lines will guests be able to use Uber to get to?
         The Port of Galveston's press release states that all three cruise terminals will have a designated Uber drop-off/pick-up spot. This means guests sailing on Carnival Cruise, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruise Line, and Norwegian Cruise Line will have the option for Uber regardless of which cruise terminal their cruise is departing from. 

Tip: For Pick-Up Make Sure You Specify The Cruise Terminal You Are At 
                 Make sure your request for a pick-up after the cruise is over is from the cruise terminal you are actually at. Since there are 3 cruise terminals (Cruise Terminal 25, Cruise Terminal 28, and Cruise Terminal 10) you should make sure when you put in for your ride that you are going to get your driver to come to the correct cruise terminal. 
                      The same thing applies to getting dropped off, but you should be able to communicate with your driver to make sure you get dropped off at the correct cruise terminal. ​

Are there any other ride sharing options or transportation options from the Galveston cruise terminals?
​                     There are many different options cruisers can use for transportation to or from the Galveston cruise terminals. The Port of Galveston also has an agreement with Lyft for ride sharing. According to the Port of Galveston's press release there are private shuttles, limousines, taxi companies, and many other options for passengers to use. 

When does the Uber agreement with the Port of Galveston begin? 
                       The press release from the Port of Galveston does not have a specific start date referenced. It is my understanding based on looking at the Galveston Wharves Board Minutes from March 2023 that the agreement has now started.

       The Carnival Venezia will have a Guy's Burger Joint onboard that serves some traditional burger options, but also has some Italian themed options to fit Carnival's Fun Italian Style concept. This post will look at the Guy's Burger Joint menu on the Carnival Venezia as well as share some general Guy's Burger Joint tips that are applicable to Carnival Venezia cruisers. 

Carnival Venezia Guys Burger Joint Menu:
​The Carnival Venezia's Guy's Burger Joint menu will have 5 options. The options that are standard across Carnival ships are as follows: 

• Plain Jane - The Plain Jane is served with or without super melty cheese. You get to choose when you order. Carnival states this is an 80/20 ground chuck on a grilled roll. The vegetables & toppings do not come in this option other than you have the choice of cheese. 
• Straight Up - This burger has more in it than the Plain Jane. If you do not want any of the ingredients you can ask for it to be withheld, but you are better off getting the Plain Jane and adding toppings yourself at the toppings bar. Carnival advertises the Straight Up burger comes with super melty cheese, lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato, and donkey sauce. Donkey sauce is a form of mayo sauce. 
• The Ringer -  The Ringer is the "Straight Up" burger but with some additional items. The Ringer comes with super melty cheese, Guy's Bourbon & Brown Sugar BBQ sauce, and a crispy onion ring. 

The Carnival Venezia will have some different options on the Guy's Burger Joint menu onboard. These options are as follows: 

• Pepperoni Pizza Burger - The pepperoni pizza burger will have fried mozzarella, pepperoni marinara, crispy stripes, super melty cheese, provolone, aged parmesan,  and donkey sauce. Donkey sauce is a form of mayo sauce. 
• Super Melty Mootz - This burger is based on the Straight Up burger, but also includes super melty cheese, fresh mozzarella, diced tomato, balsamic, fried basil, and donkey sauce. 

Will the Carnival Venezia have the Pig Patty & Chilius Maximus options?
                     ​These two options are not on the Carnival Venezia's Guy's Burger Joint menu. Instead Carnival is offering the Pepperoni Pizza Burger and Super Melty Mootz.

Will the Carnival Venezia's Guys Burger Joint serve fries?
​                  Yes, the Carnival Venezia's Guys Burger Joint will serve fries. Carnival's menu states the burger joint will serve fries that are seasoned with Guy's signature seasoning.

The Carnival Venezia's Guy's Burger Joint will be located on the Deck 10 close to the Lido pool. The Java Blue Cafe is located outside on the same side of the ship (just across the pool). 

Toppings Bar At Carnival Venezia's Guys Burger Joint?
                   Yes, the Carnival Venezia is expected to have a toppings bar at Guy's Burger Joint. I will update I hear or see otherwise, but the deck plan for the Carnival Venezia shows a counter outside of Guy's Burger Joint for a toppings bar.

TIP:  On sea days the FunTimes newsletters are usually grabbed up fast. I recommend getting one earlier in the day rather than later because on the Carnival Breeze they did not restock the papers after they were out.
