Arrival:
At around 7:00am we arrived to a bright and sunny day in Roatan. Since we had not booked an excursion, we had a leisurely breakfast and took our time before starting to disembark the ship. Those who had excursions were hurriedly getting to where they were to meet with their group, usually in the Princess Theater at various times.

Roatan:
Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands and lies approximately 30 miles from the northern coast of the Honduran mainland. It is 37 miles long and less than five miles wide at the broadest point. During the 16th and 17th centuries, over 5,000 pirates stashed their bounty throughout Roatan which encourages treasure hunters today to come to possibly find those treasures. Roatan is also a very beautiful place with its turquoise waters and white beaches. It is an easy place to visit since the main language on Roatan is English.

Excursions:
There are many varied excursions that can be booked including a visit to an iguana farm, a dolphin encounter, botanical gardens, a seaside village, snorkeling & diving and many very beautiful beaches to enjoy.

Mahogany Beach:
We, however, enjoyed a short walk to Mahogany Beach instead of booking an excursion. This beach is very close to where the ship docks and can be reached two different ways. After walking through the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center, you can either walk along a wide path across a bridge or take the Magic Flying Beach Chair to the beautiful Mahogany Beach. If you decide you would like to fly through the air, you should book a flight on the Magic Flying Beach Chair which will take you on a ride of 1,200 ft. of cable suspended more than 67 ft. in the air over a canopy of trees to get to the beach. There are excursions that you can book through the ship that will arrange for you to have a cabana on the beach for the day as well as reserved lounge chairs on the beach. However you want to visit the Mahogany Beach, you will enjoy the beach.

Evening Dinner and Entertainment:
Another very nice dining room for your evening meal is the Michelangelo Dining Room, Deck 5 Midship. There are three dining rooms where you can dine with or without a reservation. The same menu is served in each dining room. Our dinner was Shrimp Cocktail as an appetizer, Pan Seared Flounder and a huge Pork chop for our main dish, and Coconut Mousse and Venetian Apple Strudel for dessert. The chef always comes up with many different choices that are wonderful.

The evening’s entertainment in the Princess Theater was called a Night of Legends with singers doing impressions of famous singers and a great three person band accompanying them. Audience really enjoyed their performance.
