Arrival:
Again today the arrival time was at around 7:00am. Continental breakfast started at 5:00am while regular breakfast started at 6:00am. Guests were up early to make sure they were on time for their excursions which included taking a water shuttle to Belize. For those who had not booked an excursion and were eager to proceed to shore, they and all their party had to collect a water shuttle ticket from the Cruise Staff team outside the Crooners Bar, Deck 7 Midship area. After receiving a card with a group number, they had to wait until their number was called so they could head over to the water shuttle embarkation area. It actually took very little time before our number was called and we were on our way to Belize which took about 15-20 minutes on the water shuttle.

Arriving at Belize
Belize:
Belize is located in northern Central America. Its neighbors are Guatemala to the south and west and Mexico to the north. In around 2600 BC a Mayan civilization began. In1638 shipwrecked English seamen founded the first settlement. It was first known as British Honduras but became Belize in 1973 and independent in 1981. It is made up of hundreds of islands and is also the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Its caves, rivers and rainforests along with hundreds of Mayan ruins provide many opportunities for visitors to explore. It is the only nation in Central America where English is the official language.

Excursions:
Some of the excursions offered include visiting the Mayan ruins, cruising on a river through the jungle, tubing through the water beneath a cave’s formations, horseback riding through a nature park, zip lining over the rainforest canopy, snorkeling and diving from the barrier reef, taking an airboat ride through a lagoon or riding a trolley that stops at historic places and crosses a swing bridge. So many choices but if you have visited Belize in the past, you might opt for strolling along the pier (with many other guests when other ships are in port) to find some unusual souvenir to take home. We always go to the chocolate shop for their delicious chocolates to take home. This year the shop had moved to a separate building at the end of the pier. A little hard to find but worth it!

Sabatini's - good food but has extra charge
Evening dinner and entertainment:
If you want to have a different dining experience, you can make a reservation at either Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, Deck 16 Aft,  5:00pm-9:30pm or the Salty Dog Gastropub, Deck 7 Forward, 6:00pm-10:00pm. There is an additional charge for both. We ate again in the Da Vinci dining room and had for appetizers the peach soup and eggplant parmesan. Our choice for the main dishes was shrimp & scallops and spinach stuffed chicken breast while dessert was again the Princess Dream Boat and vanilla soufflé. All were very delicious. After dinner we headed to the Princess Theater for Showtime with comedian AJ Jamal. He was hilarious and had the audience laughing all the time.
