Walking Around & Looking In Shops:
After our ride on the Magical Flying Beach Chairs we walked around the different shops & buildings that are around the Mahogany Bay Cruise Center. Many of the shops sold t-shirts and items that said "Roatan". Many of the shops were crowded with people that were also browsing the various items for sale. Some of the shops sell very similar items, but the items are not the same price in these stores. If you are planning on making a purchase, check out all the shops before buying something. You might be able to save a little bit of money by shopping around. This tip can apply to other ports of call too!

One of the buildings was called a Craft Market. This area was covered, but it had several different craft items available for sale. We walked through this building, but it was crowded so looking at things was hard.
Before heading back to the ship for lunch, we decided to ride the Magical Flying Beach Chairs one more time. There was virtually no line to get on the chairs. When we got to the other side we asked to stay on and rode back. By this time, the beach area on the other side was crowded and many people were enjoying the water. The entire ride was smooth and enjoyable. I regret not bringing sunscreen, but it was already too late because my knees were beginning to feel sunburned.
Heading Back To The Carnival Freedom:
In order to head back to the ship, we had to walk through the shops on the pier. This did not take long because most people were already ashore doing excursions, at the beach, or shopping.

Before being allowed to get near the Carnival Freedom, we had to show our Sail & Sign cards. The local security guard working this checkpoint was friendly and was calling everyone by name (he was reading from the Sail & Sign cards). This checkpoint did not take long because there were no other people heading back to the ship at this time. As we walked down the pier, we saw our stateroom steward. He was going ashore because he got the afternoon off.
Getting Back On The Carnival Freedom:
After walking up the gangway, a security guard scanned our Sail & Sign cards. Once our cards were scanned we got in a short line to go through the security checkpoint. I emptied my pockets of electronics and had to take my camera off my neck. The security checkpoint did not take long.
Before heading to the Lido deck for lunch, we stopped by our stateroom. I needed to change camera batteries as well as wash my hands before eating. Our stateroom steward had come by while we were ashore to clean our stateroom and he gave us a new towel animal for the day.

Eating Lunch At The Freedom Restaurant:
The buffet was mostly empty since many cruisers were still off the ship enjoying Roatan. I got a hamburger from Guy's Burger Joint and some Caesar Salad from the Pizzeria. All of my food was good!

After Lunch Walk On Deck 10:
While we were eating lunch, some dark clouds began forming on the horizon. Since we had plans to go back ashore, we wanted to look outside at the weather to see what was going on. I walked up to Deck 10 to take a look outside.

I headed from the back of Deck 10 to the very front of Deck 10. From this area I was able to get a view of the ship's sides as well as the Carnival Magic. Since the Carnival Magic was docked directly in front of us, I was able to look down at the ship's many decks.
Getting Off The Ship Again:
After a quick walk, we determined we had enough time to get back off the ship before it started raining. We stopped by our stateroom to grab our photo identification and headed down to Deck 0 to get off. On Deck 0, there was no line to get off. Security scanned our Sail & Sign cards and we were able to proceed down the gangway. The ship's photographers were not out anymore so there was no wait at the gangway.
Just like in Belize and Cozumel, the Carnival Freedom's crew setup a tent that had regular water, orange flavored water, and lemon flavored water. There were small cups available for cruisers to use. The lemon water was my favorite, but the orange flavored water was good too!

Since we paid for an all day pass to ride the Magical Flying Beach Chairs, we wanted to ride again. Once again, there was no wait to get on. Our ride was comfortable because the cloud cover was providing some protection from the sun. However, I was a little worried it was going to start raining on us in the middle of the ride.
When we got to the other side, we asked to stay on to head back to the ship. The staff let us stay on even though there was a line of people waiting to get on from this side.
After our ride on the chairs, we walked through a few more shops and then headed back to the ship. It started to pour, which meant my camera had to put away. I was unable to take pictures of us getting back on the ship due to this rain. The line for security on the ship was a little long because many people were getting back on. The rain did not last too long.
Watching The Carnival Magic Sail:
Since the Carnival Magic was scheduled to leave Roatan an hour before us, I wanted to see the ship sail. When it was time for the Carnival Magic to leave, I walked to the front of Deck 6 to look out. The Carnival Magic was already moving away from the pier. I got my camera out to take pictures and the lenses completely fogged up. Luckily, it only took about 5 minutes to clear and I was then able to resume taking pictures.

Dinner In The Chic Dining Room:
The doors for dinner opened promptly at 5:45pm for Your-Time dining cruisers. Within minutes of the doors opening, we were seated at the same table as the previous night (the big table). Our waitstaff remembered our names, drink preferences, and brought several baskets of bread. Their service was great and all three of them were very attentive. The food was also good!

After dinner was over we had some time before Hasbro the Game Show began. We walked up to the jogging track on Deck 11 to walk some before going to the Victoriana Theater. For a little while we were able to see islands in the distance, but soon all we could see was water. I missed seeing the sunset because there were many clouds outside and the sun mainly set while we were eating dinner.
Hasbro The Game Show:
Hasbro the Game Show was scheduled to begin at 8:15pm. Around 7:45pm, the doors to the Victoriana Theater opened and we were allowed to take our seats. When the show began our cruise director, Malcolm, came out and selected people from the crowd to be on teams. He did this by doing Scattergories questions and random trivia questions. This was a fun and fair way to select people. The game show consisted of Connect 4 Basketball and Simon Flash. At the end, all of the winners got to stick their big card into the Monopoly Electronic Banking Machine. The winner received some type of gift card for Hasbro games! This was the first time I have seen Hasbro the Game Show on any of Carnival's ships. My previous Carnival ships did not have this entertainment feature yet. The game show was fun and enjoyable! |
