Morning Activities:
A beautiful sunny day with many activities planned according to the “Princess Event Listings” left in our stateroom the previous night. The schedule could also be found on the Medallion app, on the stateroom TV or on the large screens by the elevator doors on some decks. Each deck had a smaller screen which helped locate areas throughout the ship.

On the schedule almost every morning was an unhosted Bible Study in the Chapel, Deck 16 Forward. Many beauty programs were held here as well as meetings with designated groups. It also could be a wedding venue, although I don’t know if any happened on this cruise.
Since it was such a pleasant day to be outside, we made our way to Deck 19 Aft where the jogging/walking track was located. Princess Links for golf was also on this deck. This area could be reached by the steps on the outside of the ship (a long climb) or by the elevators in the aft of the ship. No other elevators went to this deck. Also located on Deck 19 Aft was the Center Court area for basketball and pickle ball challenges. Both sports seemed to be a very popular activity.
The colorful Children’s Play area was at the aft of the ship. There were many families with young children on the cruise, so I’m sure it was a well used area.

Afternoon Activities:
A really fun to watch activity in the Piazza, Deck 5 Midship, was the egg drop challenge. Those participating used various packing materials to protect their egg as it was dropped from the Deck 7 balcony. There were about 12 contestants and most of their eggs survived the drop. Three volunteer judges awarded the winners prizes for the closest to the target, most creative design and most unique packing. I think some of the contestants came prepared with materials from home! There was also an ice carving demonstration on Deck 15 Midship. It was getting warmer so this happened pretty quickly with nice results.

New Year’s Dinner and Entertainment:
This was the first formal night of the cruise so there were many places around the ship where formal photos could be taken. Most passengers in the dining room were dressed in nicer tops, slacks or dresses for women and dress shirts, slacks and some sports coats for men. There were some in fancier attire and some not so dressy. All were able to dine in the dining room no matter how they were dressed. Outside the dining room was a “salute” to the New Year. It looked like shellacked cream puffs and was very unusual but made a good backdrop for photos.
The menu was special for the occasion. Our choices were Seafood Salad and Almond Crusted Baked Brie for starters, Broiled Lobster Tail (Surf & Turf minus the turf at our request) for the main dish and Baked Alaska and Cherries Jubilee for dessert. It was all so delicious.

After dinner, we attended the show in the Princess Theater, Deck 6 & 7 Forward. Tonight was a special production called “Colors of the World” which showcased the Princess Singers & Dancers along with the Orchestra. The costumes were fabulous, very colorful and representative of countries around the world. Since it was New Year’s Eve, there were multiple parties around the ship to celebrate. Happy New Year!!
