Morning Walk Around The Carnival Dream:
Once again I woke up early in order to have time to walk around the ship prior to breakfast. I started my morning walk on the Promenade Deck in the ship's atrium. I did not see any guests out when I started my walk, but came across several crew members that were cleaning the ship's interior spaces. Since I started at the front of Deck 5 I slowly walked towards the back part of the deck. Here are some pictures I took as I went to the back of the deck:

Since I started at the front of Deck 5 I slowly walked towards the back part of the deck. Here are some pictures I took as I went to the back of the deck:
The back elevator/stairwell area of Deck is located next to Sam's Piano Bar. When I got to this area I went to the stairwell and walked down to Deck 4. When I got near the Deck 4 level of the Crimson Dining Room I stepped inside. The Deck 3 level of the Crimson Dining Room was setup for the Dr. Suess Breakfast. This breakfast costs extra and has a Dr. Suess menu & table theme.
While I was on Deck 4, I came across the Carnival Dream's conference center. The conference center is called "The Chambers" and has foldable walls that can be used to create large or small rooms, depending on the user's needs. One of the conference room sections was being used for new crew member training. Several of Carnival's ships do not have large conference rooms anymore so it was interesting to see a full sized conference room area on the Carnival Dream.
After walking on Deck 4 I took the stairs up to Deck 10. When I got to Deck 10 I stepped outside on the Lido Deck's main pool area. All of the deck chairs were empty with the exception of a few chairs that people left stuff on to reserve. Carnival's pool signage indicates unattended belongings would get removed after 40 minutes to prevent chair hogging, but I do not know how well this policy was enforced.
As I continued walking around outside I saw the sunrise. The sunrise was best able to be viewed from the back of the Carnival Dream today. Each day of the cruise the sunrises were able to be seen from a different area of the ship due to the ship's location being different each morning.
Breakfast In The Lido Buffet:
Today for breakfast I went to the Lido buffet for some french toast, bacon, an apple cornet pastry, and fruit. The apple cornet pastries are my favorite pastry on Carnival's ships and I typically will eat several of these during the cruise. The Carnival Dream's continental breakfast buffet line was open from 6:30am until 10:30am. The main Lido breakfast buffet lines were open from 7:30am until 10:30am, but one line stayed open from 10:30am until 12:00pm for late risers. Sea Day Brunch was taking place in the Scarlet Dining Room (aft dining room) from 8:30am until 1:00pm. Another breakfast option for this morning of the cruise was the Dr. Suess themed breakfast in the dining room. This breakfast was taking place at 8:00am and 9:30am, but required a reservation and cost extra. I do not know if reservations were able to be made at the door (it is probably safest to book this in advance if you want to eat at this themed breakfast during your cruise).

After breakfast I went down to Deck 5 and walked a few times around the Carnival Dream's Lanai. I had my FitBit on my wrist and wanted to get some steps before sitting down for the morning show.
After my walk around the Lanai, I went down to Deck 3 to get a seat for the morning show. The Encore Theater was being decorated with towel animals because in a few hours a Towel Animal Demonstration and Towel Animal Theater would be taking place in the lounge.
Live Morning Show:
The morning show was scheduled at 9:30am in the Encore Theater. A few minutes before the show started our cruise director, Gary, and a member of the Fun Squad came out from behind the curtain to get ready for the start of the show. Similar to the show on the first sea day, the morning show was going to be broadcast in stateroom TVs and SeaSide Theater. The show started at exactly 9:30am and consisted of a variety of information about what was happening onboard during the day and jokes. |
VIFP Platinum Sea Day Brunch Drink Coupon:
At the start of the cruise, a coupon was delivered to my stateroom for a free drink that had to be used at the Sea Day Brunch in the Scarlet Dining Room. Since the Sea Day Brunch was going on I went to use my coupon. I told the hostess I just wanted to get my free drink and she got a bar staff member to take my order. I got a fruit punch and it was good! I noticed the line of people wanting to eat at the Sea Day Brunch was long! It looked like there were only a few tables open in the dining room, but it seemed most people were able to be seated right away. I did see one large group have to wait about five minutes for a table to open. |
After the morning show and getting my free drink, I went back outside. Seeing the blue ocean is one of my favorite parts of the cruise and I wanted to enjoy being outside to see the blue water. I started my walk outside on Deck 5, but ended up going to Deck 9's front observation deck to have a look down the side of the ship. Here are some pictures:
Last Lunch In The Lido Buffet:
Today was our fourth and final lunch on the Carnival Dream. I had shrimp tacos from the Blue Iguana Cantina. After having two tacos, I decided since today was the last day I wanted to get two more shrimp tacos. The line at the Blue Iguana Cantina was long the second time I went. I think I waited approximately 15 minutes to get tacos. The lunch options for today were as follows:

- Seafood Shack - The Seafood Shack is located at the back of the lido buffet by the aft pool. This venue costs extra and was open from 12:00pm until 5:30pm for lunch and was also open for dinner from 5:30pm until 10:00pm.
- Blue Iguana Cantina - 12:00pm - 2:30pm
- Bonsai Sushi - This dining option is located on Deck 5 and costs extra. Bonsai Sushi serves a variety of different sushi related dishes. For lunch, this venue was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse (BBQ) - This dining venue is located on the Lanai on Deck 5 and is complimentary. BBQ is served here. The Carnival Dream's BBQ line was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Mongolian Wok - The Carnival Dream's Mongolian Wok is located in the lido buffet near the front area of the interior space. This venue was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Pasta Bar - The pasta bar offers guests the ability to create a customized bowl of pasta. Essentially, guests fill out a paper form that gives options of what can be put in a pasta bowl. The form is turned into a hostess and a crew member makes the bowl of pasta. Caesar salads and garlic bread are also available. This venue was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Guy's Burger Joint - 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- The Chocolate Extravaganza was also open for our last lunch in the Lido buffet. This line's hours were from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- The deli was open for lunch, but was also available for dinner (it closed at 11pm).
Chocolate Extravaganza:
Since today was the last day of the cruise, the Carnival Dream's Lido buffet was serving the Chocolate Extravaganza buffet line. The Chocolate Extravaganza buffet line took up an entire section of the buffet and consisted of a variety of chocolate dishes. Besides various chocolate desserts, the crew were making ice cream swans for guests. Here are a few pictures of the Chocolate Extravaganza buffet line:

Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ:
After lunch I decided to go have a look at Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. This dining venue is complimentary and is located on Deck 5's Lanai area. Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ serves a variety of BBQ meats and traditional BBQ sides. This dining venue was very popular on sea-days and at times had a long time. The food is served from the behind the counter and guests tell crew members what items they would like to eat.

Throughout our sea day I kept looking outside hoping to catch a glimpse of the Carnival Vista. I knew the Carnival Dream and Carnival Vista would be passing at some point in the day. Luckily, I was outside when the Carnival Vista passed by the Carnival Dream. The Carnival Vista left Galveston the day prior and sailing to Roatan while the Carnival Dream was sailing north to Galveston. Due to the far distance between the ships I was unable to get some really good pictures of the Carnival Vista, but it was neat seeing the ship sail in the distance.
The coffee bar located next to the Ocean Plaza served a variety of coffee beverages, shakes, and pastries during the day for an extra fee. A large glass display case at the coffee bar had a variety of pastries each day of the cruise. I decided to take some pictures of these pastries that were available for sale. Here are a few pictures of the coffee bar's pastries:
Last Dinner On The Carnival Dream:
The main dining room at dinner is my favorite meal on the ship. I look forward each day to the nightly dinner in the dining room. Since this was our last night of the cruise, this also meant we were on our last main dining room dinner of the cruise. Once again, dinner started at 5:45pm. Our dinner experience in the Crimson Dining Room was good throughout the cruise and the food was very good! Tonight's menus had a Western Caribbean themed section. A copy of the night's dining menus can be found below:

Playlist Productions Show: "America Rocks"
Tonight's production show was America Rocks. This show consisted of 80's rock music and was a good show. The show times for the evening were 7:45pm and 9:45pm. Doors to the Encore Theater opened at 7:15pm and 9:15pm. Due to wanting a good seat for the show I went to wait outside the theater right after dinner. Before the doors opened a long line formed and extended into part of the atrium. When the doors opened some people ran inside. Getting seats seemed intense! The Playlist Productions dancers were on stage giving free temporary tattoos and people could take their picture with a Joan Jett model. Right before the show started bandannas were thrown from the stage and I managed to catch one! The Carnival Dream's Playlist Productions cast did a great job this cruise! |
