Early Breakfast Before Going Ashore:
This morning was our stop in Belize. The Carnival Dream was scheduled to anchor offshore of Belize around 8am. Due to this early time, the buffet in The Gathering opened a little earlier. The continental breakfast buffet line opened at 6:30am, the main breakfast buffet line opened at 7am, and the Blue Iguana Cantina opened to serve breakfast at 7am too. Carnival Dream was serving breakfast in the Scarlet Dining Room from 7am until 9am.

Belize Arrival:
Since Belize does not have a pier, we would be using a water shuttle (formerly called a tender boat) to go ashore. After eating breakfast I went up to the Carnival Dream's Deck 9 front area to take a look out. We were still moving into our position for the day and had not yet dropped anchor, but we were close. The Carnival Magic in front of us and the Enchantment of the Seas was off in the distance.

Water Shuttling Into Belize:
Guests who were booked on a shore excursion for Belize were given special instructions on where to meet in order to start the excursion. Some excursions met in the Encore Lounge and those people were escorted off the ship as a group to get on a tender boat. People not taking a shore excursion were asked to stop by the non-smoking casino on Deck 4 at 7am to grab a water shuttle zone number. This zone number system was designed to help Carnival manage the flow of guests off the ship. Guests that were VIFP Platinum & Diamond had priority water shuttle access and were asked to meet in a designated area to get off when a water shuttle was available.
We decided we were ready to get off the ship around 8:30am. Since we are Platinum we met in the Crimson Dining Room which was the designated priority meeting spot. After waiting around 15-20 minutes we were directed down to Deck 0. A large water shuttle was tied up to the Carnival Dream and crew members were assisting guests cross over the threshold from the Carnival Dream onto the water shuttle. The water shuttle's onboard crew directed people where to sit. This water shuttle was large and capacity was around 500 people. We sat on the water shuttle about 15 minutes and waited until it was at 100% capacity before it took off. The ride to Belize took around 20 minutes and was rocky.

I personally did not enjoy this water shuttle ride because of how crowded it was and how long the ride took. The air was hot and still when we got off the water shuttle in Belize.
Navigating through the cruise complex at Belize was very crowded. We went to the gate and stepped outside the cruise complex to take a short walk to an area with "BELIZE" letters and a lighthouse.
We went back to the Belize cruise complex after a few minutes. Our time in Belize was spent browsing some shops and buying chocolate at the Moho Chocolate place. They had samples and it was delicious.
Water Shuttle Back To The Carnival Dream:
Our water shuttle ride back ended up lasting 30 minutes. From the Belize pier, we were directed onto a very small boat and since it was early not many cruisers were getting back on yet. The ride back was bumpy due to the boat hitting the waves. However, when we got close to the Carnival Dream they cut the engine off and we just sat there. We later learned that because the boat was small it needed to use stairs to get guests on the Carnival Dream and the Carnival Dream's set of stairs were in use by another water shuttle.
When we got back on the Carnival Dream our Sail & Sign cards were scanned and then we were directed through a security checkpoint. This moved quickly and then we were free to leave Deck 0.

Lunch In The Lido Buffet:
Today's lunch was quiet on the Carnival Dream since many guests were ashore in Belize. This meant the number of buffet lines was reduced and some crew members were eating in the buffet. I went through the Comfort Kitchen buffet line and the food was good. Below are some pictures of the salad bar and Comfort Kitchen buffet line from today's lunch:

After lunch I walked around on Deck 12 and ended up walking to Deck 15. The Carnival WaterWorks was open, but nobody was using the slides. I used the stairs on Deck 15 and climbed up to the top of the waterslide to get a look at the entrance and take some pictures. The crew member working seemed excited that somebody came up there and mentioned it had been a slow day. He was nice and let me get some pictures & video footage!
After walking around outside I went inside. The interior areas of the Carnival Dream were also quiet.
Club 02 Youth Lounge:
Club 02 is Carnival's youth program for 15-17 year olds. No activities were taking place at this time so I stepped inside the lounge to take some pictures.

Dinner In The Crimson Dining Room:
Tonight we requested our same waitstaff as the night before and got them. The dining room team did a good job taking care of us and our food was brought out quickly! Tonight I had ceviche crudo and caesar salad for appetizers, fried mississippi catfish for main course, and a banana split for dessert. Everything was great!

After dinner we took a walk on Deck 5 to look outside at the sunset. The Carnival Magic and Enchantment of the Seas were behind us. Carnival Magic was sailing towards Roatan, Honduras. The Enchantment of the Seas was sailing near us throughout the night and would be docking in Cozumel the next day too.
Deal or No Deal:
Our cruise had another round of Deal or No Deal scheduled for tonight in the Encore Theater. This was scheduled for 7:30pm and cards to play were sold in advance at 6:45pm. We played Deal or No Deal on this night and won a $25 bingo package. The game was fun to watch again and we had a good time playing on our card. We did not get called to the stage. |
Carnival Dream was nicely lit up at night. Below are some pictures as I walked on Deck 12 to Deck 15.
