This is Day 3 Part 2 of my Carnival Breeze review and continues with my time in Cozumel! After we bought rum cakes we took a quick walk by the Puerta Maya beach area before starting to head back towards the ship.
At the entrance to the pier we were require to show our Sail & Sign cards to the security guard. This was a quick checkpoint and then we had to walk back through the shops on the pier. The building was much less crowded than earlier in the morning, but there were still many guests walking out towards Cozumel. I was worried that it was going to rain on us while we were on the pier, but luckily it did not.
Getting Back On The Carnival Breeze:
After walking up the Carnival Breeze's gangway we had our Sail & Sign cards scanned. This was done by a security guard with a handheld tablet. As each person's card was scanned their picture appeared on the screen for security to verify the identity of the cruiser. After getting our Sail & Sign card scanned we had to go through the metal detector & bag screening. All electronic items had to be emptied from our pockets and placed in a bin to go through a separate scanning. Bags, purses, and backpacks also had to be scanned separately. The security checkpoint did not take long! After proceeding through this checkpoint we were free to leave Deck 0. We had a little bit of time before lunch so we walked to our stateroom on Deck 2 to drop off our rum cakes. Our stateroom steward had come by while we were ashore and left a new towel animal. |
Lunch From The Carnival Breeze's Guy's Burger Joint:
I decided to eat at the Guy's Burger Joint today for lunch. It has almost become a Cozumel tradition for me in the post-Covid shutdown cruise world! Guy's Burger Joint is located on the Lido Deck close to the main pool (opposite side of the ship from the Blue Iguana). Guests eating at Guy's Burger Joint will line up and tell the crew member which burger they would like. The options are Plain Jane, Straight Up, The Ringer, Chilius Maximus, & Pig Patty. Hand cut fries are also available from Guy's Burger Joint. The line was very short when I came up to the counter. I ordered a Straight Up burger with fries. The burger had lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, Donkey Sauce (sort of like mayo), a hamburger patty, and buns. I liked the grilled taste of the hamburger patty. A toppings bar is available near the Guy's Burger Joint Counter with chili, sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, peppers, and sauces. |
Lido Marketplace Lunch:
Even though the ship's buffet was open for lunch during our port of call stop in Cozumel, the buffet was partially reduced due to most guests being off the ship. According to the daily FunTimes activity newsletter, these were our lunch options aboard the Carnival Breeze for the day:
Note: Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ and Bonsai Sushi were both closed at lunch. Bonsai Sushi was open starting at 5pm until midnight, but Guy's Pig & Anchor was closed for the entire day.

Even though the ship's buffet was open for lunch during our port of call stop in Cozumel, the buffet was partially reduced due to most guests being off the ship. According to the daily FunTimes activity newsletter, these were our lunch options aboard the Carnival Breeze for the day:
- Lido Marketplace Lunch - The buffet was opened for an extra bit of time today. The lunch buffet was scheduled to open at 12pm and close at 3:30pm.
- Seafood Shack - The Seafood Shack is located at the back of the lido buffet by the aft pool. This venue costs extra and was open from 3:00pm until 5:00pm for lunch and was also open for dinner from 5:00pm until 10:00pm.
- Blue Iguana Cantina - 12:00pm - 3:30pm

The dessert station had a variety of different cakes available today as well as cookies & jello. Below are pictures of the dessert station:
After lunch we walked up to Deck 12. The basketball court and mini golf course were both open, but overall the deck was quiet. Around the mid-ship area of Deck 12 we could hear a movie playing on the Sea Side Theater. The movie was "Coco" and started at 12:30pm.
The very front of Deck 11 has an outside deck. In order to access this area you have to walk through the stateroom hallways on either side of Deck 11. There were a couple of benches outside. This was the first time I've been outside on the Carnival Breeze's Deck 11. The view was not as good as some of the lower front decks, but this was still a neat area.
While walking around we went down to Deck 5's Lanai. It was very windy outside! I could see rain in the distance. One thing I noticed was the Ocean Plaza entrances had large towels on the deck with chairs holding the towels in place. This was to prevent water that got on the deck from getting inside when the ship was rocking the night before.
The Club 02 youth lounge is located on Deck 4. Club 02 is the youth program for 15-17 year olds. The room consists of a dance floor, small bar area, games, and plenty of seating.
Next to the Club 02 youth lounge is the Circle C youth lounge. This youth program space is for 12-14 year olds. The room has a dance floor, games, and plenty of seating.
The Carnival Breeze's non-smoking casino is located on Deck 4. This casino annex has slots, tables, and a bar area. Both the deck 4 casino annex and main casino on Deck 5 were closed while we were docked in Cozumel. The casinos did not re-open until after we had sailed away.
While walking around I happened to walk through the Deck 3 level of the Sapphire Dining Room. The dining room was empty and waitstaff had not yet started setting up tables for the evening.
At some point during the afternoon I went back outside. From Deck 12 I was able to see rain in the difference, but the rain seemed to miss the Carnival Breeze. This was good for all of the people that were relaxing outside!
The back onboard time for today's stop in Cozumel was 4:30pm. Around 4:30pm there were still a few guests walking down the pier. Before 5:00pm the gangways started getting put away and the dock workers waited to untie the ropes. Since it was close to dinner, we did not stay outside to watch our Cozumel sail-a-way.
Dinner In The Main Dining Room:
Tonight was our third dinner of the cruise and once again we ate in the Sapphire Dining Room for Your-Time Dining. The Carnival Hub App's Your-Time Dining check-in opened a few minutes prior to dinner and at 5:30pm the doors to the Sapphire Dining Room opened. The dining room was very quiet and was very empty. For tonight's dinner I had shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, Mississippi Fried Catfish, and a banana split. It was all good and the service was once again great! |

After dinner we walked through the Lido Marketplace to see how things looked up there. It was absolutely packed with people! The buffet was busier than breakfast or lunch on any of the other days of the cruise on this particular night for dinner.
Deal or No Deal:
At 7:30pm in the Ovation Theater was Deal or No Deal. This gameshow was based on the popular TV show. Guests were able to enter to play by purchasing cards starting a few hours in advance of the game-show starting. Game cards were sold at 6:30pm and had to be purchased early because when it is time for the game show it is too late to buy a gamecard. Two rounds were played with two different contestants. I have written a post about Deal or No Deal on here if you are interested in checking it out: Click Here to View Deal or No Deal lasted about 45 minutes in total. The show was hosted by our cruise director, Amber. The Ovation Theater was packed for the Deal or No Deal gameshow. |
After watching Deal or No Deal we walked outside on the Lanai. However, the back of the Lanai was closed so it was difficult to get some good walking out here. Some parts of the deck were wet while others were dry which was a huge improvement from the night before. Since the back was closed we didn't stay on Deck 5 too long and went up to the jogging track on Deck 12.
The jogging track on Deck 12 was open, but it was very windy outside! We walked several laps around the jogging track. Below are a few pictures I took during our walk:
It was windy outside which made one side of the jogging track easy and the other side hard because of the wind resistance. It felt good outside and I was glad it was not raining! Before heading back to the stateroom we went by the Lido Marketplace for some water. It was still packed with people eating from the buffet line, deli, and pizzeria.
