Breakfast: On each of these two sea days we had to move our clocks up each night before going to bed in order to be on the correct time when we reached our next port. So we took advantage of a leisurely day to have a later than usual breakfast. The Horizon breakfast buffet had something for everyone from all types of egg dishes, waffles and pancakes, bacon and sausage, cheeses and cold cuts, cereals, yogurt, different kinds of fruits and many styles of potatoes to just name a few. The minute you sat down at your table there were waiters offering you coffee and orange juice. We preferred hot tea and other juices which they immediately went to get for us. Really good service! The Pastry Shop had a variety of muffins, sweet rolls, breads and Danish goodies.
Morning Activities: Although both mornings were a little cooler and cloudier than it had been the days before, we still enjoyed walking the track on Deck 17 Aft. The track provided a divided area – one for slower walkers and one for faster joggers. It was a popular place with many of the cruisers taking advantage of this type of exercise in the refreshing sea breeze which sometime was a little windy. Others got their exercise in the Fitness Center, Deck 16 Midship. It was a very busy place as it was always full of exercisers on the various machines. Also available for golfers was the Lawn Count, Deck 18 Aft and the Driving Range, Deck 17 Aft.
Destination Presentations: On both days, morning and afternoon, there was a destination expert who presented information in the Princess Theater on each of the upcoming ports. She was so knowledgeable about each port and what we could expect to see and do. She also warned about being protective of your wallets and handbags because of the pickpockets that were in the crowds hoping to lift them from you. We really enjoyed her presentation on each port and found them very helpful.
Afternoon Tea: Every afternoon, except for port days when we were gone on an excursion all day, we had tea in the Concerto Dining Room, Deck 6 Midship at 3:00. It was a very popular activity as the tables filled up quickly and those in attendance not only enjoyed their tea and all the goodies, but seemed to enjoy meeting those at their table. A relaxing way to get to know your fellow travelers and enjoy those scones with strawberry jam and whipped cream – my favorite!
Royal Afternoon Tea: On several afternoons a special tea was held in the Piazza, Deck 5 Midship. This was a more formal setting and included fresh berries along with all the indulgent treats at $10.00 per person and champagne at $20.00 per person. Since I never attended this special tea, I don’t really know how well attended it was.

Dinner and Entertainment: Our third formal night was held on Day 9. The dress, although requested to be more formal, seemed to be nice dresses or tops with slacks for the ladies and dress shirts with ties or coats and ties for the men. Unless they were eating much later than we did, I never saw any truly formal wear at any of the “formal nights”. The entertainment for Day 9 was the Production Show: Bravo featuring the Regal Princess Singers and Dancers and special guest soprano Lisa Eden. Oh my, what a voice she had. The entire show was spectacular with all the beautiful costumes and wonderful singing and dancing. Day 10’s entertainment, Musical Showtime, was Bobby Brooks Wilson the son of soul singer Jackie Wilson. Bobby is a wonderful entertainer and gave us an evening of fun music.
