Overview: Today was the final day of the cruise. In this day's review you will see many photos taken around the ship, breakfast photos, and New Orleans arrival photos. I will also be reviewing the disembarkation process.
I woke up around 4:30am in order to finish packing. I didn't have much packing left, so I was done in less than 30 minutes. After packing, I wanted to take some time to walk around the ship and get some final pictures. In most of the public areas of the ship, I didn't come into any contact with anyone. I started my walking tour on Deck 3 (Lobby Deck) in the atrium. Here are some pictures:
The ship's atrium was getting prepared for the disembarkation process. The Sail & Sign card scanners and crowd control ropes were getting set up in the atrium lobby. The Crimson Dining Room was also getting prepared for the next cruisers. The next cruise's first night menu was displayed outside of the dining room and new tablecloths were getting placed on tables.
After walking around the Deck 3 atrium area I walked up to Deck 4. The photo gallery was closed and all of the photos were removed from the gallery. The Disembarkation Information Sheet listed the photo gallery as staying open for a small part of the last day, but I never saw what time the photo gallery was supposed to open.
Deck 5 (Promenade Deck) was also empty. I walked around and looked at the different public areas on the Promenade Deck.
I continued to walk on the Promenade toward the front until I reached the Ocean Plaza. There was a sign in the Ocean Plaza that advised that this area was one of many Wheelchair Assistance Zones for Disembarkation. The Ocean Plaza was listed as an area where people could wait for their disembarkation zone to be called. Zone numbers are assigned based on stateroom location, unless a guest has priority disembarkation. Guests with priority disembarkation will usually receive Zone 1.
After walking through the Ocean Plaza, I continued walking to the front of the promenade.
Arrival in New Orleans, LA: Between 5:00 - 5:30am the ship was getting close to docking in New Orleans. The time was close to 6:00am when the ship actually docked at the Erato Street Cruise Terminal in New Orleans. I stood on the Lanai at the front of the ship to watch the ship turn on the river. I did not stay long because I wanted to keep walking around before breakfast.
After spending some time looking outside and walking the Lanai I needed to go to the lido buffet for breakfast. I cut across the Promenade to go to the aft stairwell/elevator area. Here are some pictures I took walking along the Promenade Deck.
After going up from Deck 5 to Deck 10, I wanted to take a quick look outside before eating breakfast. Here are some pictures I took from the back of the Lido Deck by the aft pool:
Breakfast in The Gathering: The breakfast buffet lines were scheduled to be open from 6:00am - 9:00am. Breakfast was also scheduled to be served in the Scarlet Dining Room from 6:00am - 8:30am. The Gathering opened up the full breakfast buffet lines before 5:50am and there were very few people in line for food. I had an omelet, bacon, hash browns, and a pastry for breakfast. The food was very good and I wished I would have eaten more food since this was the last meal of the cruise.
I knew that my time on the Carnival Dream was coming to end, but I still wanted to take one last walk around the upper outside decks before having to disembark. I went from Deck 10 to Deck 12 to take a look outside. Here are some pictures:
Serenity Adults Only Retreat: I have not spent much time reviewing this area of the ship on previous days because I got very few pictures of this area. On the last day I walked through the entire Serenity Adults Only Retreat to make sure I got some good pictures of both levels. The Serenity Adults Only Retreat is for guests that are 21 and older. The Carnival Dream has the biggest Serenity Deck out of all of the ships that I have traveled on in the past. The Serenity Deck was crowded daily throughout the cruise and I had trouble on previous days (even in the mornings) to get some good pictures. On this last day, there were crew members cleaning the Serenity, but I was still able to get some pictures. There were no guests on the Serenity Deck.

After walking around on the outside decks I made my way back to my room. Platinum, Diamond, and Faster to the Fun guests were told to meet in the Crimson Dining Room on the Deck 3 level for priority disembarkation. Since I was traveling with a person that was Platinum, I was able to use the perk of getting off first. Once we grabbed our suitcases from the room we went to the Crimson Dining Room.
The first picture on the row below is of the Crimson Lounge. This area was always closed during the cruise, but it was opened up on the last day. This area only had more tables and chairs for dining. My guess is that this area is used for private functions and/or overflow crowds during dinner. We did not have to wait long to get dismissed to disembark because the ship got cleared by Customs & Immigration around 7:00am.
Disembarkation:
This is always my least favorite part of every cruise, but this is a part of the cruise that must happen in order for someone else to get to embark. Disembarkation started around 7:00am and Diamond and Platinum guests were dismissed first. There was no announcement for these guests, but the Platinum & Diamond guests in the Crimson Dining Room were told by crew members to disembark. Faster to the Fun guests would also be announced before the ship's public address system started to call for self assist disembarkation. After getting my Sail & Sign card scanned for a final time and deactivated, we were directed to travel back down the gangway. After traveling down the gangway we were directed down an escalator to Customs & Immigration. In this area photography and cell phone usage were prohibited. Port officials and government officials watch for these activities very closely and will not tolerate people not following directions. Going through Customs was quick and easy. It only took 10 minutes for us to get off the ship and into our car in the parking garage.

After leaving the parking garage the cruise was officially over.

I am not done writing about the Carnival Dream and I am not done sharing photos of the Carnival Dream. I will soon start working on a Carnival Dream ship tour and detailed reviews on certain public areas on the Carnival Dream.
