Morning Activities: After a night of smooth sailing in a north-westerly direction towards Port Everglades, we woke up to another beautiful sunrise. We decided that the first thing we should do after eating breakfast was to go on up to Deck 18 to the jogging track and take advantage of the coolness of the morning rather than wait until the afternoon when the sun was beating down. This jogging track was a little different from other at-sea jogging tracks in that it was separated into definite lanes for joggers and walkers which helped to keep walkers out of the way of joggers and joggers from running over walkers! Other sports activities taking place during the morning were goofy golf and shuffleboard competition on Lawn Court (Deck 19Aft); bulls eye simulator target practice at the Laser Range (Deck 18 Aft); and pickle ball in Center Court (Deck 18Aft). A fruit and vegetable carving demonstration was held by the Fountain Pool (Deck 16 Midship) which resulted in some very creative masterpieces.
Lunch: An Oriental style lunch with many different selections was served in the Horizon Court. There were large arrangements of all types of sushi that were very colorful and the choice of many of the diners. However, I picked the more traditional Oriental foods. Either after lunch or later in the afternoon, you could stop at the Pastry Shop which was next to the Horizon Court and indulge yourself in cookies, tarts, puddings and all sorts of delicious desserts. Or, you could wander out to the Swirls Ice Cream Bar (Deck 16 Midship) for a creamy vanilla or chocolate ice cream cone. Another possibility for sweet treats was Gelato (Deck 5 Piazza,) but there was an additional charge.
Afternoon Activities: Although there were many more activities going on all over the ship, many cruisers were taking advantage of either the Terrace Pool (Deck 17 Aft), the Fountain Pool (Deck 16 Midship) or the Retreat Pool (Deck 17 Forward) to cool off in the pool or catch some rays in the deck chairs that seemed to be available on all the decks of the ship. Others were seen in the many seating areas throughout the ship relaxing, reading or playing card games. Another quiet area of the ship was the library (Deck 7 Aft) where you could find different types of reading material, games or even work on the puzzle that was on the table for everyone to try to finish.
Dinner and Entertainment: The menu for the second formal night had so many wonderful choices that it was difficult to decide. The evening show in the Princess Theater was “Fiera”, a colorful musical of a love story set in a fairground. The costumes and sets were fantastic. The singers and dancers did a great job, as usual.
