Exiting The Shuttle Bus & Getting Ready To Walk To The Beach:
When this review left off our shuttle had just arrived in Progreso and we were being dropped off at an area with a large tent. This large tent contained numerous different tables of shops. Since the beach was not far from this location, we wanted to walk over to the beach. Before walking over to the beach we found a table selling Coca-Cola for $1.00. The workers of the table accepted US Dollars. The drink was served in a glass bottle and tasted great.

After briefly walking around the tent, we headed over to the beach. We followed signs that pointed towards the beach. This led down a street filled with shops, bars, and places trying to sell food. It was annoying hearing shop workers call out to us every time we took a step wanting to sell us something or invite us to come in for a free try of their product.
Once we made it through this area, we were finally in the vicinity of the beach. There were massage huts setup on the beach, but the people working these did not pressure us as much to buy their massages. Here are some pictures I took along the beach:
I am thankful the weather cooperated for us to enjoy nice weather in Progreso. The water was so nice and blue! Before heading back to the shuttle's pick up area, we took a short walk along the road the runs parallel to the beach.
Shuttle Ride Back To The Carnival Valor:
After walking back to the large tent area, we were greeted with a large crowd of people waiting to board a bus. I estimate there were about 35-40 people standing. Our initial thoughts were all of these people were waiting to go back to the ship. However, we quickly learned these people were boarding another bus to go an excursion. The locals directed us to another area and we waited about 5 minutes for a shuttle to arrive. When the shuttle arrived only a handful of people boarded and the driver departed to take us back to the ship. This shuttle ride was much better than the last one. The bus had an air conditioner that worked decently. Before our shuttle could enter the pier, we had to go through a security checkpoint. Here are some pictures taken during the shuttle ride:

Our shuttle ride took only about 10 minutes. I felt like the drive back did not take too long (maybe the shuttle driver was speeding). After getting off the shuttle, we had to walk back through the shops.
Getting Back On The Carnival Valor:
Before being allowed to walk onto the cruise ship pier, we had to show our Sail & Sign cards to a security guard. He checked our name as well as our ship's name to ensure we were passengers of the Carnival Valor. This only took a few minutes. After going through this checkpoint, we walked down the pier. Since the Carnival Valor was docked backwards we had to walk all the way down the pier in order to get to the front gangway. This was the only gangway open at this time. After walking up the gangway, our Sail & Sign cards were scanned by security and then we went through a security checkpoint. All electronics and items had to be emptied from our pockets for the security checkpoint. After going through the metal detector and collecting our scanned belongings, we left Deck 0 and got ready for lunch.

Today's lunch options on the Carnival Valor were...
Today, for lunch I wanted to go to Guy's Burger Joint. On the Carnival Valor, Guy's Burger Joint is located near the main Lido Deck pool right outside of Rosie's Buffet. After Lunch Walk Around The Ship:
After eating lunch, I went outside and walked around the ship's outside decks. It was nice seeing Progreso in the distance. I walked from Deck 9 to Deck 11. Once on Deck 11, I walked along the jogging track. At this time of the day, the jogging track was not being used because it was extremely hot outside and most cruisers were ashore in Progreso.

On Deck 11, near the middle of the ship there is a small stairwell (about 4 or 5 steps) that leads cruisers into the ship's basketball and volleyball court. The basketball court and volleyball court area is fully enclosed by a net. From this area, the mini golf course can be accessed by climbing up another set of stairs by the ship's funnel. Since nobody was using this area as I walked by, I took some pictures:
Before going back inside, I walked down to Deck 10 and went to the front of the ship. Since the ship's front faced the open ocean, there was not much to see here. However, from one of the sides of the front observation deck I was able to look down at the pier. There were a few people walking back, but not too many at this time. However, later in the day there would be a long line of people waiting to get back on the Carnival Valor.
After walking outside I walked down from Deck 10 to Deck 5. I started at the front of the Promenade Deck and slowly worked my way towards the back. Most of the ship's public spaces were empty due to it being a port of call day.
Dinner In The Lincoln Dining Room:
Once again, we ate in the Lincoln Dining Room for Your-Time Dining. The doors opened prompty at 5:45pm and we were seated almost immediately. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp appetizer and a flat iron steak for my main course. Our dining room servers were the same as the previous two nights and they did a great job!

After dinner, we headed outside to walk on the jogging track. I managed to get a few good pictures of the sunset.
