The Carnival Dream was launched into Carnival Cruise Line's fleet in 2009 and marked the start of Carnival Dream's class. The Carnival Dream has a double occupancy passenger capacity of 3,646 guests and has a gross tonnage of approximately 130,000.
The layout of the Carnival Dream, as well as the other two Dream class vessels, is easy to navigate. This self guided tour is meant to be a tool to help you familiarize yourself with the ship’s layout. Many of the ship’s public areas are included in this tour. Please keep in mind, especially on the cruise’s first day, some lounges or places may be closed for various reasons including events such as wedding receptions and other private functions. If something is closed and you wanted to look in that area, consider trying again at another time. I recommend moving to the next part of the tour. The tour works best if followed in order. This tour is not affiliated with any cruise line, ship, travel agency, or travel group. If you find any errors, problems, or areas without clarity please let me know. I want to make this tour as accurate & helpful as possible so please let me know of any problems! Also, please keep in mind public areas are subject to change! |
Starting Point:
To begin this self guided tour go to the Carnival Dream's atrium lobby, which is on the Lobby Deck (deck 3). The official name of the atrium is The Dream Atrium. 1. Dream Atrium Lobby – Lobby Deck 3 This tour begins in the Carnival Dream's Dream Atrium lobby by the atrium bar. Look up and you will see the many levels of the atrium as well as the glass dome located near the top. The Carnival Dream's atrium has four glass elevators. In the center of the atrium is the atrium bar. Two important areas that you can see from here are the Guest Services desk and the Shore Excursions desk. If you are looking towards the back of the ship (opposite direction of the atrium elevators) you should see a mini-hallway that leads to the Carnival Dream's mid-ship dining room. This dining room is the Crimson Dining Room. The ship has two dining rooms, each with two decks. Besides the Crimson Dining Room, the Carnival Dream's aft dining room is known as the Scarlet Dining Room. Each cruiser is assigned a dining room for dinner and this information will be printed on a cruiser's Sail & Sign card. |
Change Deck: Once you have spotted all of these places it is time to change decks. This tour recommends using one of the glass elevators or the stairwell that is in the atrium. The stairwell is spiral shaped. The front elevator area is also close nearby and you can use those too. However, for simplicity purposes it is best to use the atrium stairwell or one of the atrium's glass elevators. Go up one deck level to Deck 4.
2. Atlantic Deck - Deck 4
Are there staterooms on this deck? There are no staterooms on this deck. Touring This Deck: Once you are on Deck 4, I recommend circling the atrium. As you circle the atrium you will be in the ship's photo gallery, known as Pixels. If you walk towards the front of this deck you will be on the second level of the Encore Lounge, which is the ship's main show lounge. Playlist Productions shows and other large scale events take place in this lounge. To continue touring this deck, walk in the direction opposite of the atrium glass elevators. You will see on one side of the ship the entrance to a hallway that will lead towards the middle/back of the ship. This hallway is right by the Paige Turner Library. If you are walking in the right direction you will pass the Paige Turner Library and be walking out of the photo gallery. Eventually, you will see the side of the Crimson Dining Room and be walking by large windows that look into the dining room. If this is what you are seeing continue walking towards the back. |
Almost immediately after passing the Crimson Dining Room's side windows you will see a ladies and men's restroom on your right. This would be a good time to stop and use the restroom if you need to.
When you are ready to continue moving you will see the entrance to the non-smoking casino annex almost right after you pass the restrooms. The non-smoking casino replaced the Chambers Conference Room. This casino space has a variety of slot machines & tables. The main casino on the Carnival Dream is located on Deck 5 Promenade. Keep walking towards the back of the ship. As you are walking you may notice occasional windows and doors that lead outside. The outside deck area you may see is for CREW only. However, this is part of the area guests would use to board lifeboats in the event of an emergency. |
As your journey on Deck 4 continues, you will run into the entrance to Circle C. Circle C is Carnival's youth program for 12-14 year olds. As you continue moving towards the back you will pass Club 02. Club 02 is Carnival's youth program for 15-17 year olds.
As you continue walking towards the back of the ship, you will see the Scarlet Dining Room. Nearby you should see the back stairwell and elevator area. From here go to the other side of the ship and look to your right. You should see the ship's arcade. When you are ready to continue moving, you will want to the take the back elevator/stairwell area up to Deck 5.
Change Deck: When you are done looking around this area go to the nearest elevator or stairwell. You are at the back elevator and stairwell area. Take the elevator or walk the stairs up one deck. This will take you to the Promenade Deck, which is Deck 5.
3. Promenade Deck - Deck 5
Are there staterooms on this deck? There are no staterooms on this deck. Touring This Deck: Your tour of this deck will start at the back once you are on Deck 5. The first area you will be in is the back stairwell/elevator area. If you look towards the ship's back you should see the entrance to the Burgundy Lounge. The Burgundy Lounge is the Carnival Dream's aft lounge and is the main home to comedy events, karaoke, and many other events. I have included a picture of the entrance of the Burgundy Lounge. This picture is directly to the left of this paragraph. After touring the Burgundy Lounge you will see two different areas to the side. One side is a smaller lounge called The Song. On the other side is Sam's Piano Bar. If you have time feel free to check out The Song, but in order to continue on this tour you will need to enter Sam's Piano Bar and start walking towards the front of the ship. |
As you pass through Sam's Piano Bar you should eventually see a long walkway that will take you to the front of the ship. Start walking towards the front of the ship.
After exiting the piano bar, you will see the entrance to the Caliente Dance Club on your left. The picture to the right of this offers the perspective that you should be seeing. The entrance to the Caliente Dance Club is on the left and several areas to sit are on the right. As you keep walking you will pass by Bonsai Sushi on your right. Bonsai Sushi is a venue that costs extra and serves different sushi dishes. Check the Fun-Times for Bonsai Sushi's daily hours. |
As you keep walking you will come to an area known as the Ocean Plaza. The Carnival Dream's Ocean Plaza has a small stage, mini dance floor, and several areas to sit. Also, as you walk by this area you will see the Plaza Cafe, which serves sweets and specialty coffees for an extra fee. The Ocean Plaza can be used a variety of different events and activities, such as trivia. Sometimes karaoke will take place at the Ocean Plaza. On both sides of the Ocean Plaza you will see doors that lead to the outside. The area outside is called the Lanai and this outside area wraps around the entire Deck 5 of the ship. After the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown the front part of the Lanai has been for crew only, but the rest of the outdoor Lanai should be available for guests to use. Outside you will see some hottubs and Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. This tour does not include a trip outside, but if you have time later I recommend coming back to check it out.
In order to continue on this tour, keep walking towards the front of the ship. You will pass through the Carnival Dream's casino, which is called the Jackpot Casino. The Carnival Dream's layout requires all cruisers to walk through the casino when going from one side of Deck 5 to the other. However, the casino has a minimum age (usually 18) in order to play at the machines and tables. |
After walking through the casino you will be in the Carnival Dream's atrium on the Deck 5 level. Immediately after walking out of the casino area, if you turn to your left you will walk by Cherry On Top. Cherry on Top sells candies, sweets, and other things for a price. If you continue walking on this side of the ship you will walk by one side of the Fun Shops. When you get to the front elevator/stairwell area you will want to go up to Deck 10 (Lido Deck).
Decks 6-9 contain staterooms are not included on this tour.
Change Deck: When you are done looking around this area go to the nearest elevator or stairwell. Since you are in the atrium, you can take a glass elevator or take the nearby front elevators. You may also use the front stairwells if you wish. Go from Deck 5 to Deck 10, which is the Lido Deck.

Touring This Deck: After you get off the stairwell or elevator, you will want to head across the atrium level of this deck. If you enter a guest stateroom hallway you are going to the wrong way. After walking across the atrium area you will continue until you see a sliding glass automatic door. This door will take you outside. Once you walk outside you will be on the Lido Deck's outside area. If you look up you will see the Carnival Dream's SeaSide Theater. In the middle of this outside area you should see the Carnival Dream's main Lido pool and many deck chairs throughout the area. One side of the ship is home to the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar and the other side is the Red Frog Rum Bar. |
If you are looking directly at the SeaSide Theater, walk to your right. You will walk by the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. Keep walking towards the back.
You should eventually reach the Blue Iguana Cantina, which is one of the Carnival Dream's Lido eateries. The Blue Iguana Cantina serves tacos and burritos, but the type of each depends on whether it is breakfast or lunch. This is a complimentary eatery! Outside of the ordering counter there is a salsa bar for guests to use. Across from this eatery on the other side of the ship is Guy's Burger Joint, which is also complimentary. This tour does not include a stop at Guy's Burger Joint. For the purposes of this tour, continue walking towards the back.

Furthermore, you will see the Carnival Dream's jogging track. At times you may have to walk on it to continue to the front. Be careful and watch for people using the track! Keep walking towards the front.
You will eventually pass the mini golf course. The Carnival Dream's mini golf course is 9 holes. Mini-golf clubs and balls are located somewhere around the mini golf course, but may not be available if the mini-golf course is closed. As you walk towards to the front of the ship, you will eventually be off the jogging track and onto regular decking. You will probably see the ship's WaterWorks area ahead. Keep heading towards this area! As you keep walking towards this area you should be able to see the Lido Deck main pool area below. |
Once you get to the WaterWorks area, take a minute and look up at the slides. The Carnival Dream has two large waterslides. One is called the Twister and the other is called the DrainPipe. The Twister Waterslide has many twists and turns. The DrainPipe waterslide ends in the guest going around a large bowl in circles. From personal experience, I can say both slides are fun! The entrance to the DrainPipe and Twister Waterslides can be found on Deck 15. In addition, the WaterWorks has a racing slide. The Deck 12 level of the WaterWorks has a small slide for younger kids and a SplashPad!
Keep walking towards the front and enter inside. You should see the glass atrium elevators and front elevator/stairwell area. Also, from this area you should be able to see the entrance to the Carnival Dream's SPA/Gym facilities. This tour does not include the gym or SPA, but the SPA's staff members typically are happy to give tours on the first day of the cruise! |

Deck 15 is home to the second level of the Serenity Adults Only Retreat and the entrance to two of the WaterWorks slides. The Serenity Adults Only Retreat is for guests that are 21 and older only.
