Towel Animals By The Lido Main Pool:
Today was our last sea day & last full day on the Carnival Breeze. I got up early to walk around and decided to start my walk on the Lido Deck. There were towel animals around the Lido pool and in the surrounding deck chairs. The Carnival Breeze's housekeeping team did a great job putting this all together. A towel animal folding class was taking place later in the morning in the Ovation Theater following The Wave Morning Show.

It was neat seeing the work of the housekeeping team by the pool with the towel animals. I walked up to Deck 11 to get a better view and then headed towards the back of the ship. One side of Deck 11 has the smoking section onboard. It was already packed with people sitting outside smoking. When I reached the back of Deck 11 I was able to get a great view of the sunrise.
From Deck 11 I started walking down. I stopped in the Lido Marketplace on Deck 10. The continental breakfast buffet line was open, but the main lines still had a little while before opening. The Carnival Breeze's cereal was served in dispensers. The cereal flavors available on this morning of the cruise were Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, and Cinnamon Toast. The buffet was pretty quiet since breakfast had not yet started.
During my morning walk I went down to Deck 5 and passed through the public areas. The Ocean Plaza, Piano Bar 88, and Limelight Lounge were all places I walked through on this morning. Deck 5 was very quiet this morning except for an occasional crew member working on cleaning. The Carnival Breeze's housekeeping team did a great job throughout the cruise making sure the public areas were clean.
While walking though Deck 4, I stepped inside the upper level of the Sapphire Dining Room. Crew members were working on the Deck 3 level setting up for the Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast. The Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast is a Dr. Suess themed breakfast that has a reservation fee. A few Dr. Suess characters usually make an appearance during the breakfast.
After walking through the interior, I headed up to Deck 15. The Serenity Adults Only Retreat was empty and had many places to sit available. I was able to see the Carnival WaterWorks was not yet open for the day. The Serenity Adults Only Retreat was a little bit windy.
The sun has risen more since my walk outside earlier and I was able to see the calmness of the ocean. This is the kind of weather I love to see on a cruise!!
Breakfast In The Lido Marketplace:
For today's breakfast I ate in the Lido Marketplace again. The Carnival Breeze's continental breakfast buffet line was open starting at 6:30am. The main Lido breakfast buffet lines were open from 7:30am until 10:30am, but one line stayed open from 10:30am until 11:30am for late risers. Sea Day Brunch was taking place in the Blush Dining Room (aft dining room) from 8:30am until 12pm. Carnival served french toast on this morning of the cruise, but bacon was not available. One noticeable difference this cruise has been the yogurts have been available for self-service in a bowl instead of being in individually sealed cartons.

After breakfast I stopped by the Cashier's Station in the casino to get my winnings. There was a short line, but it did not take too long. I stepped outside onto the Lanai to look out. It was a very nice morning and we had great weather!
The Wave Live Morning Show:
The Wave Live Morning Show was taking place in the Ovation Theater at 9:00am. Our cruise director, Shy, once again hosted the morning show. It was a fun and informative morning show. Shy did a great job hosting each morning show and so many events throughout the cruise. After the morning show the Ovation Theater was going to be used for the Towel Folding Fun class. As we left the morning show we saw many people coming in for the towel folding event. Guests could grab towels in the back for use in making towel animals during the event. The Debarkation Presentation was also taking place on this morning of the cruise at 10:30am. Carnival always highly recommends at least one guest per party attends the debarkation presentation. |
Complimentary VIFP Platinum & Diamond Drink:
I stopped by the brunch in the Blush Dining Room during open hours to redeem my free drink coupon. The coupon was valued for $11.00 and could be used on any drink available from the bar at brunch. I used my coupon to get some non-alcoholic fruit punch. It reminded me of the fruit punch that Carnival used to serve 13+ years ago at the Capitan's Cocktail Party (that event used to be so much fun...such a shame it has been gone for so many years). After getting my drink I went back to the stateroom. The brunch was crowded and since I was not eating I did not stay. |
The VIFP Diamond and Platinum Party was taking place at 11:45am in the Ovation Theater. The invitations were delivered to our stateroom a couple of days earlier. I did not attend the VIFP party as I was more interested in eating lunch.
Last Lunch In The Lido Marketplace:
Today was our last sea day, which meant it was also our last lunch onboard the Carnival Breeze for this cruise. Our options for the final lunch of the cruise were as follows:
I ate in the Lido Marketplace again for lunch today. I first went through the buffet line. Several of the items on the salad bar & hot foods section were good. The Baja Fish was really good and so were the mashed potatoes
Today was our last sea day, which meant it was also our last lunch onboard the Carnival Breeze for this cruise. Our options for the final lunch of the cruise were as follows:
- Seafood Shack - The Seafood Shack is located at the back of the lido buffet by the aft pool. This venue costs extra and was open from 11:00am until 5:00pm for lunch and was also open for dinner from 5:00pm until 10:00pm.
- Blue Iguana Cantina - 12:00pm - 2:30pm
- Bonsai Sushi - This dining option is located on Deck 5 and costs extra. Bonsai Sushi serves a variety of different sushi related dishes. For lunch, this venue was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse (BBQ) - This dining venue is located on the Lanai on Deck 5 and is complimentary. A variety of BBQ options are served here. The Carnival Breeze's BBQ line was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Pasta Bar - The pasta bar offers guests the ability to create a customized bowl of pasta. Essentially, guests fill out a paper form that gives options of what can be put in a pasta bowl. The form is turned into a hostess and a crew member makes the bowl of pasta. Caesar salads and garlic bread are also available. This venue was open from 12:00pm until 2:30pm.
- Guy's Burger Joint - 12:00pm - 6:00pm
- The deli was open for lunch, but was also available for dinner (it closed at 11pm).
- The Sea Day Brunch ended at 12pm in the Blush Dining Room so if any guests planned to eat brunch they needed to do so prior to 12pm.

The dessert station had many great choices, but my favorite key lime pie was available. I wish I would have been hungry for another slice.
Captain's Pasta Bar:
At lunch the Cucina Del Capitano venue on Deck 11 (above the buffet) is used as a complementary pasta bar. Upon entry guests will ask the hostess for a paper to fill out that gives choices of different sauces, pasta types, and vegetables for the custom pasta bowl. Then guests can dine-in and sit down while the pasta is being made. There are waitstaff working the venue that will refill drinks and bring salad/bread if requested. I requested my custom pasta bowl to go so I was not seated at a table. My bowl consisted of linguini pasta, pomodoro (tomato basil), grilled chicken strips, italian sausage, garlic shrimp, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, and spinach. Cheese was not listed as an option, but my pasta bowl came with cheese on top. It was very good and filling! |
After lunch I went to the front of Deck 9 to look out. In the far distance it looked like it was cloudy, but the weather in our present position was nice. It was a great sea day and the water was a nice blue!
I also walked to the back of Deck 5 after lunch. The view was great and I was able to see the line for Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ at lunch was a little long. I did not stay outside too long because I wanted to head to the Ovation Theater for the Q&A event.
Q&Awesome With Our Cruise Director:
At 1:45pm in the Ovation Theater our cruise director, Shy, was hosting a Q&A event. Guests were allowed to ask any questions, but were specifically told in advance that questions regarding pay or shipboard security were not allowed. Shy got some very good questions from guests and did a great job answering the questions. This was his first cruise as cruise director since Lawrence was at the Entertainment Leadership Conference in Memphis. I highly enjoyed this event and found it both interesting & entertaining! |
After watching the Q&A, we walked outside to the front of Deck 7. This outside deck at the front is directly below the navigational bridge. It was now cloudy and in the far distance it looked like we were going to hit some rain.
I walked to Deck 12 to see if the jogging track was packed. It was not, but it was extremely windy. After a couple of laps, I looked off towards the ship's front and noticed we were about to sail into some rain. A cold breeze blew across the ship and sent many people inside. Within a few minutes the rain starting coming down, but I do not think the rain lasted more than 45 minutes.
Last Dinner Of The Cruise:
Tonight was our last dinner this cruise. The Carnival Hub App opened for check-in around 5:25pm and by 5:30pm we were seated in the Sapphire Dining Room. We had our same waitstaff again tonight. We had fantastic service throughout the cruise! The Sapphire Dining Room was packed tonight. The bread choices tonight were rustic french and ciabatta. I had one of each and thought both tasted good. For my appetizers I had marinated chicken tenders and caesar salad. For my main course I had enchiladas. I love these enchiladas and am glad Carnival continues to keep these on the main dining room dinner menu. For dessert, I had Baked Alaska. On my first cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy in 2007 the only dessert option was Baked Alaska on the last night. Ever since then I always pick Baked Alaska despite there being a few other choices of dessert. Everything tasted great and I am hungry for dining room food seeing these pictures after the fact!! |
The dining room menus were available through the Carnival Hub App or via a QR code. Paper menus are available upon request in the dining room. Below are screenshots of tonight's main dining room menus from the Carnival Hub App:
Below are pictures from our table's dinner tonight:
After eating I stepped outside onto Deck 5 to take a look at the sunset. The sun was barely starting to set at this point in time. I walked around a little bit, but then headed to the Ovation Theater for the last show of the cruise, The World Works Here.
The World Works Here:
Tonight's show was The World Works Here. The show was one-time only and scheduled to start at 7:30pm in the Ovation Theater. This was the first time that I saw The World Works Here as the show was not offered on the Carnival Breeze last time I cruised. At 7:30pm our cruise director, Shy, began introducing crew members from different countries and they entered the Ovation Theater carrying the flag of their home country. Many countries from around the world were represented. Next, two of the Playlist Performers sang "Imagine" by John Lennon and then the youth programs did a piece. The show ended with the Playlist Productions performers sitting on barstools singing songs about love. I personally do not care to attend this show again. I would rather Carnival have kept a full production show in this timeslot. The crew did a good job, but I felt like this show was a waste of time. |
After watching The World Works Here I went outside to Deck 5. The sun had mostly set. The temperature outside was warm, but a cool breeze made it feel great. Before heading back to the stateroom I decided to walk up to the Lido Deck. I used the mid-ship elevators and saw luggage carts were out. People getting off the ship that were doing general debarkation could put their luggage out and Carnival's stewards would pick it up. The luggage taken would be available for pick-up in the cruise terminal. I personally do self-assist so I did not have anything to put out. I'll discuss debarkation more in the final portion of this review!
When I was done drinking water, I decided to head outside for a quick look around. The outside decks had people watching the Seaside Theater. There were some people playing mini golf. It was a great evening to be outside!
