Waking Up Extra Early:
Unfortunately, all cruises must come to an end and we were going to have to get off the Carnival Breeze today. The day started at 4:30am so we could finish packing and have time for a last morning walk around the ship. By 5am we were out of the stateroom and walking around the Carnival Breeze. The first stop on today's walk was the Lido Marketplace on Deck 10. The buffet was empty except for a couple of crew members.

While walking by the Lido main pool, I was able to look out the windows and see Galveston in the far distance. We were still too far offshore for me to get cellular service.
We walked from the Lido Deck down to Deck 5. From the atrium level of Deck 5, I was able to see the atrium setup for the debarkation process. We walked from the front to the back of Deck 5. The Winner's Luck Casino was closed for the cruise and would not re-open until the evening once the Carnival Breeze sailed away with the next guests.
The Ocean Plaza area of Deck 5 was also very quiet. A few crew members were working on cleaning, but there were very few guests walking at this time of the early morning.
On Deck 3's atrium lobby area the lobby was setup for debarkation. Crowd control ropes were in place. The exterior doors for the gangway were opened though the Carnival Breeze still had a little ways to go before we docked.
Final Breakfast Of The Cruise:
Today was our last breakfast & final meal of this cruise vacation. The continental breakfast and main breakfast buffet lines both opened at 6:00am. Breakfast was scheduled to end at 9:30am. The Blue Iguana Cantina was open for breakfast from 6:30am until 8:30am.
For cruisers that did not want to eat breakfast in the Lido Marketplace, the Blush Dining Room was open from 6:30am until 8:00am.
Below are some pictures of the continental breakfast buffet options from this last morning's breakfast:

After breakfast we walked outside to see our arrival into Galveston. The sun was rising and it felt nice outside!
I wanted to look out from the front of the Carnival Breeze so I walked across Deck 11 towards the front of the ship. The Carnival Breeze's main Lido pool area below was nicely lit up and the deck chairs were setup for the next guests.
By the time I reached the front of the Carnival Breeze we were sailing by the Harborhouse Hotel & Pier 21. Construction workers were at Cruise Terminal #25 working to get the building ready for the Carnival Jubilee's arrival.
As we approached Cruise Terminal #28 I was able to get a good view of the gangways and people waiting on the pier to tie the ropes up. The Carnival Breeze did not turn around before we arrived in Galveston so the ship docked with the front facing the grain elevator.
Disembarking The Carnival Breeze:
On the last sea day a letter was delivered to my stateroom that said VIFP Platinum guests were allowed to debark early and could arrive in the Ovation Theater at 7:30am prior to debarkation. This time was only for VIFP Platinum guests that were doing self-assist debarkation and did not check any luggage outside their stateroom. I arrived in the theater a little before 7:30am and a crew member was seating everyone in order of arrival.
Within a few minutes of arriving clearance was given for us to start debarkation. We left the lounge in the order of arrival and were escorted to the atrium. Within the atrium there were two lines to get off the ship. Multiple Carnival Breeze Security officers were scanning Sail & Sign cards before guests could step off. After getting our Sail & Sign cards scanned we had to merge the lines to get off onto the gangway. This took a couple of minutes because the gangway was narrow.
Note: For a cruiser to get off as self assist, he or she must carry off all luggage and bags. All self assist guests would be allowed off before the general disembarkation guests.

Within the cruise terminal we went down a ramp to the first floor and then down a long hallway. The cruise terminal staff were standing in strategic places to remind people to have their identification ready and to stay in the lines they were in. One line was for passport guests and the other was for guests with birth certificates.
Going through the cruise terminal through Customs was quick & easy. We had our passports in hand and went through the Carnival Smile & Go facial recognition machines. There was a long line for birth certificate or non-passport guests. By 7:45am, we had approached our vehicle and were working our way out of the Port of Galveston's parking garage!
This was a great cruise on the Carnival Breeze. Although the weather was not the best and the ship was rocky, I still had a great time! Thank you for reading my Carnival Breeze 2023 4 day cruise review. I hope you enjoyed the pictures and this review! Click Here To Return To The Review's Mainpage |
