This is Day 1 Part 2 of my Carnival Jubilee 2025 Cruise Blog. To read Day 1 Part 1 please click here.
As I continued looking around the ship, I wandered into the Limelight Lounge on Deck 7. Sometimes Carnival used this lounge for comedy (they also have a dedicated comedy lounge near the front of Deck 6) and other times smaller scale events & activities were held in here.
My afternoon walk brought me to the Pacific Dining Room, Rudi's Seagrill, Cucina Del Capitano, and the Jubilee Theater.
Deck 8 has a nice outside area called the Lanai. This concept is similar to the Dream & Vista class ships with several changes for the Excel class ships. On the Carnival Jubilee, the Lanai has both covered & uncovered seating, an outside section of the Marina Bar, a bar called the Watering Hole, and an outside seating area for Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ. The very back of Deck 8 is home to Patio Pool where guests can enjoy a pool view at the back of the ship. The back part of Deck 8 is open to all guests. The front part of Deck 8 has an outside area, but this is reserved for guests staying in the Havana Staterooms.
The Carnival Breeze began sailing away from Galveston at 3:30pm. I watched the Carnival Breeze depart from Deck 8. It was nice to the Carnival Breeze and guests onboard were lining the upper decks to wave at the guests on the Carnival Jubilee. Each ship blew its horn a few times and there was a mini horn battle. I posted some video on YouTube of the Carnival Breeze's departure from Galveston.
Around 4pm the Carnival Jubilee began sailing away from Galveston. Our scheduled departure time was 3:30pm so we were only a little late. It was not announced why we were leaving a little late, but 30 minutes did not impact our itinerary. Below are some pictures I took of Galveston from Deck 8 during our departure:
First Dinner on the Carnival Jubilee:
We had YourTime Dining which allowed us to dine anytime between 5:30pm and 9:00pm. Checking in for YourTime Dining was easy and done via the Carnival Hub App each night of the cruise. We checked in for dinner and walked to the Pacific Dining Room entrance on Deck 7. YourTime Dining guests used the Pacific Dining Room on Deck 7. The deck 6 level of the Pacific Dining and Atlantic Dining Room were for guests with assigned early or late seating. The dining room opened a few minutes prior to 5:30pm on the first night and we were seated at a round table. Our waitstaff did a great job and our food was brought out quickly. I had a shrimp cocktail and caesar salad for appetizers, Szechuan Shrimp as a main course, and cheesecake for dessert. All very good!
I posted a full set of 7 night cruise menus including captions & food pictures. Please check out my post by clicking here.

Center Stage Entertainment: The Carnival Jubilee's Center Stage area serves as a place for entertainment and as a lounge. Center Stage was a neat concept onboard as the led screens were able to be removed and opened to a full set of glass windows. During the morning the Carnival Jubilee often had the space open so guests could see out the 3 deck high windows. Tonight Center Stage was hosting a Playlist Sneak Peak at 7:45PM, Meet Your Cruise Director at 8PM, and Showtime (Activate the Fun) at 8:15PM. After dinner we went to Center Stage and stayed for several events & shows taking place in the venue. The Playlist Productions Sneak Peak gave us a short introduction to our Playlist Productions Cast and they sang a few songs. We had a talented group of Playlist Productions performers on the Carnival Jubilee. |
At 8PM our cruise director, Kyndall Fire, took the stage. Kyndall was the Carnival Jubilee's inaugural cruise director and did a great job keeping us entertained & informed throughout the cruise. She used this time to introduce herself, share some information about the cruise and entertainment, and she introduced the Fun Squad team members. The show transitioned into Activate the Fun at 8:15PM where the different bands and musical performers of the cruise were introduced. We got to see a brief introduction from the Center Stage Band, Piano Bar, Havana Bar performers, Guy's Pig & Anchor Band, and others.
Playlist Productions - "Dear Future Husband" The first Playlist Productions Show of the cruise was scheduled for 9:30pm in the Jubilee Theater. After watching Activate the Fun we walked over to the Jubilee Theater to wait for Dear Future Husband to start. The Carnival Jubilee's theater was very different than other Carnival ships as the seating was individual chairs and in an auditorium style design. Dear Future Husband began promptly at 9:30pm. The show's theme was an onboard cruise wedding and the cast sang a variety of songs from the 2000's and 2010's that were related to marriage, love, or dating. The Playlist Productions Cast did a great job! |
After Dear Future Husband ended we were exhausted and decided to call it a night. We walked down to Deck 4 and went to sleep. There was no hallway noise so I was able to sleep great!!
