The Carnival Encounter is undergoing a drydock renovation in 2026 that will bring some updates and new amenities to the ship. Currently, the ship's dry-dock is expected to end around March 20, 2026. This dry-dock is taking place in Singapore.
What We Currently Know:
1. Addition of Bonsai Sushi Express - Carnival is in the process of adding Bonsai Sushi Express to the Carnival Encounter. Bonsai Sushi Express is a smaller scale of Carnival's popular Bonsai Sushi dining venue. For more information on Bonsai Sushi Express click here for my post.
2. Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is coming onboard. Carnival is replacing the Luke's Bar and Grill onboard with Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse. The menus are expected to be similar to what is currently served on the Carnival Splendor and Luminosa from Australia.
3. A new venue, Carnival's Topside Grill, is replacing Luke's Burger's. Carnival has not released information regarding the menu or pricing for this venue yet.

4. Dry-docks always bring general refreshments to ships. Some of the work could be in public areas and may include work to carpet, flooring, wall coverings, and basic maintenance that is harder to perform when the ship is in-service. Technical work behind the scenes almost always takes place during dry-docks too.
5. The Cloud 9 SPA is getting thermal suites. Guests can book the thermal suites online.
6. Work is being done to all 5 of the ship's pools and all 7 of the ship's jacuzzi tubs are being replaced.
7. Carnival is resurfacing the ship's basketball court.
8. The crew areas onboard are receiving some updates too.
9. Improvements to help the ship become more energy efficient are being made.
