Morning Walk Around Carnival Dream:
I was awake by 6am and got up early to walk around the ship. My walk started on Deck 3 in the atrium lobby. There was not much going on in the atrium except for some music playing through the speakers and one guest services crew member sitting behind the desk.

While on Deck 3, we cut through the Crimson Dining Room's Deck 3 level. The dining room was setup for the Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Celebration breakfast. This breakfast replaced the old Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast. There is a reservation fee to attend this breakfast that guests were able to book pre-cruise or once onboard.
We next headed up towards Deck 5 after making a brief stop on Deck 4. Deck 5 was also very quiet and empty. The Ocean Plaza had a few crew members cleaning and the Lanai outside had some crew members doing deck work.

After walking around the inside areas of the Carnival Dream, I went up to Deck 10 and then slowly walked up to Deck 12. The sun was rising, but I was unable to take pictures with my digital camera until the lenses unfogged. I think I had to wait about 10 minutes. Next cruise I am going to start carrying a cloth with me to wipe the lenses.
Breakfast:
This morning's breakfast in The Gathering was mostly similar to other things offered earlier in the cruise. The continental breakfast buffet line opened up at 6:30am. The main Lido Buffet lines and omelet station opened at 7:30am through 10:30am. Carnival kept one line open for late risers until 12pm. Besides the buffet, Sea Day Brunch was taking place in the Scarlet Dining Room from 8:30am until 12pm and the Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast was taking place in the Crimson Dining Room (reservation & fee required). Below are a few pictures from The Gathering's breakfast:

After breakfast I walked up to Deck 12 to look outside. The decks were mostly empty, but the weather was nice and it was a little windy. There was some haze in the distance, but I was overall happy with the weather during this morning.
I decided to go to the front of Deck 9 to have a look outside. The Mariner of the Seas was ahead of us in the distance. Based on looking at the Marine Traffic app I could see the Carnival Jubilee was also in front of us, but the ship was too far ahead for me to spot.
I spent a little bit of time walking around on Deck 5. The Lanai was being cleaned for the morning and it just felt nice being outside.
The Wave Live Music Morning Show:
The Wave Live Music Morning Show started at 9:30am and was once again hosted by our cruise director, Andy. This morning's show covered things happening around the ship and some of the events taking place in the SPA and Fun Shops. The show was fun! The Towel Animal Folding Demonstration was happening next in the Encore Theater so crew members were working on setting up for this event while the morning show was going on.

Mariner of the Seas & Carnival Breeze:
Throughout the morning we had a view of the Mariner of the Seas as the ship was also sailing to Galveston. The Mariner of the Seas was ahead of us for most of the day, but around mid-day we started to pass the ship up. Around 11am we passed the Carnival Breeze which was sailing towards Cozumel and had left Galveston the day before. I stood on Deck 9 to watch the Carnival Breeze sail by.

Chocolate Extravaganza:
On 6+ night cruises Carnival will typically have an event called the Chocolate Extravaganza at lunch (normally last sea day). The Gathering's dessert station was setup with numerous chocolate cakes, desserts, a chocolate fountain, ice cream swans, and many other items that were either chocolate or went well with chocolate. The Chocolate Extravaganza was open from 12pm until 2:30pm. Below are some pictures from today's Chocolate Extravaganza buffet:

Lunch In The Gathering:
Besides the Chocolate Extravaganza, there were numerous other options to eat in the Carnival Dream's buffet. The Gathering opened for lunch at 12:30pm and stayed open until 2:30pm. Besides the buffet lines, the Blue Iguana Cantina was open from 12pm until 2:30pm and Guy's Burger Joint was open from 12pm until 6pm. Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ was open from 12pm until 2:30pm on Deck 5. Carnival also had the Seafood Shack and Bonsai Sushi open at lunch too, but both of these venues cost extra.
Below are pictures from the Comfort Kitchen buffet line. I did not include pictures of the salad bar since the toppings were the same as prior days of the cruise.

After lunch I went to the front of Deck 9 to look outside. It was cloudy and hazy.
Since it was almost time for Q&A I did not stay outside too long, but I did stop on Deck 5 to have a look outside.
VIFP Diamond and Platinum Party:
At 4pm in the Burgundy Aft Lounge was the VIFP Diamond and Platinum Party. Doors opened right before 4pm and inside bartenders were serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I had a strawberry smoothie which was delicious. While everyone was sitting around guests could listen to live music and there was a guess the number of candies in a bag contest. After 30 minutes of guests sitting down our cruise director, Andy, got up to speak and the officers of the ship were introduced. Our captain thanked everyone for cruising on the Carnival Dream. |
Last Dinner Of The Cruise:
Tonight was our last dinner of the cruise. Once again we had the same table in the Crimson Dining Room. Our waitstaff for the past few nights were great and better than the waitstaff we had the first two nights of the cruise. For appetizers I had caesar salad and fried tomatoes, for main course I had enchiladas, and for dessert baked alaska. Everything was great!

After dinner I took a walk around Deck 12 and enjoyed the end of the day's sunset. It was hazy so the view was not too great, but it was still nice to see. The World Works Here as taking place in the Encore Theater at 7:30pm, but I did not attend.
